FAQ

Quotes, lead times, areas served, logistics: the answers to the most frequent questions.

Quotes and what to send us

Getting an accurate quote and sending us your drawings or samples.

How do I get a quote?

Describe your roller, your wheel or your part: dimensions, current material, target hardness and operating conditions. Fill out the form on the page Contact Us, attach a drawing or a photo, or call us at 450 664-4000 (toll-free 1 800 361-5588). The more you describe the application, the more precise our recommendation.

Can I send a drawing or a sample?

Yes. You can send us a drawing, a dimensioned sketch or a physical sample. For cast polyurethane parts, a sample or a drawing speeds up manufacturing and the validation of hardness and dimensions.

Lead times, emergencies and logistics

Lead times, rush service, pickup and delivery, areas served and hours.

What are the lead times to cover a roller?

As a guideline, in business days (excluding rush jobs):

complete new roller
is evaluated case by case. These lead times vary with the material, the shop workload and availability. For an emergency, see our emergency service & logistics.

Technical questions — where to find the answer

The detailed answers live on our dedicated pages. Here is where to go directly.

Rubber or polyurethane: which one to choose?

The choice depends on abrasion, load, chemistry and temperature. See our Material Selection Guide.

My roller slips, marks or vibrates — what should I do?

Those are symptoms of wear or of adjustment. See our page Troubleshooting.

What is your capacity, and do you reuse the core?

Details on the page Roller Covering (capacity up to

42 in. finished diameter × 20 ft. center to center
; core reuse depending on its condition).

Products, materials and processes

What we make, what we do not make, and how we choose.

Do you mold custom parts?

Yes, in hot cast polyurethane: bushings, bearings, bumpers, wear plates, scrapers, gears and parts made to drawing, from less than 1 g to more than 2,500 lb. Rubber, for its part, is used to cover your rollers and wheels on a metal core.

Do you make grooved rollers, and which patterns?

Yes: diamond, chevron, herringbone, spiral, circumferential, air release at the nip, micro-groove and more. We choose the pattern, the land-to-groove ratio, the angle and the groove bottom according to the function (traction, squeezing, air or water release, wrinkle prevention). See the page Grooved Rollers.

Do you cover contact rollers for wide belt sanders?

Yes. We cover, spiral groove and balance contact rollers — hardness sets how aggressive the cut is. See the page Sander Rollers.

Do you make pre-stretch rollers for pallet wrappers (stretch wrappers)?

Yes, as an OEM replacement or as a refurbishment. See the page Pre-stretch rollers.

Why is my polyurethane cover breaking down in a wet environment?

Polyurethane with an

ester
backbone hydrolyzes (breaks down) in the presence of water or hot humidity. For those environments, we specify
ether
PU or EPDM. Details in the materials guide.

Can you reproduce a part with no drawing (OEM part no longer available)?

Yes, through reverse engineering : from a sample (even a worn one), we take the dimensions, we analyze the failure and we can propose an improvement in material, hardness or profile.

Which industries do you work in?

Packaging, pulp & paper, printing, corrugated, textiles, wood, steel & metals, conveyors, food processing, industrial manufacturing — and many more. See Other Industries : what the part does matters more than the name of the sector.
