Forklift wheels, pallet truck load rollers, covered casters, traction wheels or nip wheels: Soremag covers and refurbishes your industrial wheels to the exact durometer and diameter — in polyurethane or rubber, to suit the load and the floor.
A worn metal wheel is not a dead wheel. When the cover is

From material selection to final inspection: here is how we rebuild a wheel that lasts — and why some wear out too fast.

Polyurethane or rubber, cover durometer, rebound resilience and abrasion resistance chosen from the load, the speed, the floor and the environment.

Diameter, width, thickness, bore and tread profile reproduced or optimized for your equipment — even for an OEM wheel you can no longer source.

The old cover is stripped, the wheel core is inspected, grit blasted and prepared for a durable, safe bond.

Every wheel is finished and checked: durometer, dimensions, concentricity, tread profile and bond quality.

A photo points the diagnosis in the right direction, but rarely on its own: we always tie the damage back to the operating conditions. See our roller & wheel diagnostics →
What sets us apart from a plain covering shop.
Core inspection and repair, casting or vulcanization, precision grinding and quality control under one roof — short lead times, emergency service, pickup and delivery.
A chemical engineer and lab validation: polyurethane or rubber, ester or ether, durometer set by your load, speed, floor, humidity and heat build-up — not an off-the-shelf grade, and often better than the OEM part.
Reverse engineering from the old wheel, a sample or a sketch — ideal for OEM wheels that are discontinued, unavailable or missing a readable nameplate.

Every wheel has one dominant constraint — load, traction, floor or speed. Here are the main families and the material we most often pair with them.

At Soremag, we finish the wheel to the profile you want and cut your grooves — extremely precise, up to 60 in. in diameter on your wheels.

We grind the cover to the exact diameter, profile and concentricity — crowned, tapered or straight — for smooth, vibration-free rolling.

Our two most requested wheel types in detail — brands, models and materials. We refurbish them or rebuild them from scratch, in polyurethane or rubber.

Drive and idler wheels that support and rotate pipe, vessels, tanks and pressure vessels during welding or fit-up.

Drive wheels, steer wheels and load rollers taking high contact pressures and repeated cycles on an industrial floor.
The most important part — and what separates a real shop from a plain molder.
We don't choose a wheel on color, material or
Two covers at the same durometer can behave completely differently. What decides it is the compound against the load, the speed and the cycle time — heat build-up does more damage than surface wear.
Our field-trial approach goes back a long way: in 1995, some twenty compounds tested on a paper mill's actual equipment produced Cerathane — and avoided a rail rebuild estimated at $750,000 to $1.2M.
A rebuilt wheel is never more accurate than the metal base it is built on: that is why we inspect the
Full mechanical and dimensional inspection: cracks, corrosion, pitting, distortion or a cracked weld; bore, bearing journals, shoulders and flange; ovality, taper, radial and axial runout and concentricity between the bore and the bonding surface. On the bearing side, we check radial and axial play, noise, rough spots, sealing and fit in the housing — and, depending on the cure temperature, we remove the bearings before preparation and casting. Polyurethane wins on heavy load, abrasion, low rolling resistance and service life — ideal for pallet truck wheels, load rollers and heavily worked wheels. Rubber brings traction, shock absorption and floor protection, useful for drive wheels and quiet rolling. The right choice depends on the load, the speed, the floor and the environment.
Yes. We reuse the existing hub or core and rebuild the cover to the durometer and diameter you need — often cheaper and faster than buying a new wheel, and with no original drawing if needed (reverse engineering).
Yes. We cover casters, rollers and bearing-mounted wheels (cam followers, guide rollers) in polyurethane or rubber for quiet, non-marking, wear-resistant rolling, with the durometer matched to the load and the speed.
The durometer is chosen from the load, the speed, the floor and the ride quality you want. High-load, low-rolling-resistance wheels are generally hard; wheels that have to grip, cushion or protect a fragile floor are softer. We validate and apply the exact cover durometer your application calls for.
Send us the wheel, a photo or a sample with the load, the speed and the floor type — we recommend the material, the cover durometer and the finished diameter, anywhere in Quebec and across Canada.
