A good cover starts with good metal. Soremag builds the new core, repairs metal rollers and restores bearing journals — so your roller runs true, for a long time. We also design our own molds.
The metal part of the roller — the core (shaft) and its bearing journals — determines the straightness, the concentricity and the service life of the whole assembly. Soremag takes care of that part from A to Z:
From a new core to balancing, by way of repair back to size — with a lifting capacity of

We build the new core (shaft / tube) of a roller, from a drawing or by reverse engineering from an existing part — ready to receive its cover.
Rather than replace a damaged metal roller, we restore it and bring it back to size : cheaper and faster than a new part. That includes worn

We perform thedynamic balancing of industrial rollers to reduce vibration, protect the bearings and improve stability at high speed. Each roller is measured, corrected and verified with precision — for more reliable operation and a longer service life for your equipment.
We design and build our own molds — a turnkey service, from the mold to the finished cast polyurethane part .
We build our molds in-house to produce your custom polyurethane parts: from

Metal and covering in the same place — less handling, shorter lead times, one single responsibility.
Metal fabrication and repair, covering, grinding and finishing — all in-house, without moving from one shop to another.
No drawing? We reconstruct the dimensions and the profile from your part in order to build or repair it faithfully. See the reverse engineering.
Dimensions, concentricity, runout and journals checked before covering or return to service — see our QC7 System.
A clear path, on its own or combined with covering.
Inspection of the part and survey of the dimensions — at the shop, on your line if needed, or by reverse engineering.
New core, straightening/re-machining of the roller or rework of the journals.
Verification of the dimensions, the concentricity and the runout.
The right metal for the load, the environment and the target weight.
The choice of metal depends on the load, the speed, the environment (humidity, chemistry, food) and the weight you are aiming for. Need to choose the cover as well? See our pages rubber rollers and polyurethane rollers.
Yes. From the old roller, a sample or a dimensional survey (reverse engineering), we reconstruct the drawing and build a new core to the right dimensions, ready to receive the cover.
Often, no. A bent shaft, a damaged surface or a worn bearing journal can usually be repaired and re-machined back to size, which avoids the cost and the lead time of a completely new roller.
Yes. We handle the metal part (core, repair, journal) and the roll covering in rubber or polyurethane, then the grinding and the finishing — all in the same place.
Yes. Dimensions, concentricity, runout and the condition of the journals are checked under our quality control system before covering or return to service.
Send us your dimensions, a drawing or photos — or send the part to us. We assess whether to build new or repair, and we combine it with the covering if needed.
